So I personally am an Apple user and have been for many years now. I don't know about Android devices, but I know on Apple devices you have the option to put your phone on "do not disturb", which means the notifications will come to your phone, but you won't get an alert when they have arrived. It will be a silent notification. How many times do we place ourselves on "do not disturb" to God? How often do we not allow ourselves to receive the message he is trying to give us because we don't have our ringers on to accept it. We have our silent mode or do not disturb on. I know I have been guilty of this. Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily lives, we allow ourselves to place God on silent mode when instead we should have our ringers up as loud as they can go so when God sends us a message we are there ready to receive it. How many times have you been in a situation and you don't feel like God is speaking to you? Have you ever stepped back and asked yourself if you're available to God? Are you willing to be ready to receive the message he is trying to send you? And the message may not always be what we want to hear, but you have to trust in God and trust that whatever the message He is sending to you, you need to hear or else He wouldn't be sending it. Also, you need to ask yourself, are you praying to Him, worshipping Him, and reading your Bible so that he can reveal a message to you? We need to stop placing ourselves on "do not disturb" for God and place ourselves on "available". Elevation Worship has a song on their new album called "Available" and it says in part of the song, "I hear you call, I am available". Make sure when God calls you, you are available to answer. Don't send him to voicemail so you can call Him back when it's a good time for you or have your phone on "do not disturb" so you don't get alerted when he calls. Every message that God sends to you has a purpose and it's a message He wants you to hear, so allow yourself to hear it. How often do you talk to God? If you can't answer that question, then maybe you should allow yourself to pick up the phone for Him more often, which means pray to Him, speak to Him, worship Him, read His Word, and just spend time with Him. God can speak to you in many different ways. It may be directly. It may be through scripture. It may be through a worship song. It may even be through another person. Make sure however it is God is contacting you, you're available to receive His message.
